Two books you have to read this summer:
“Lucky” and “The Lovely Bones” by Alice Sebold.
I couldn’t put them down until I had finished them. I love books that do that to you, make you forget the world around you and suddenly wake up 10 hours later not really knowing what hit you.
“Lucky” is Alice’s memoir that tells the story of how she was raped as an 18-year-old college student. It’s horrifying, scary, and above all: true. And it is written in a language that keeps you reading even though you know you really do not want to learn more about those horrors.
“The Lovely Bones” is her first novel. It has been highly praised and is actually worth it to. A must read!
Escaped the city for a few days last week to visit my parents on their farm.
Right now my mother is twice as old as I am.
This morning when I walked to work, the sun was shining and it was 20 ° C. Less than 15 minutes later a thunderstorm broke loose… I think it’s over now ’cause I can really feel the falling of air pressure. I guess the summer has finally arrived 🙂
Some new pictures of me.
I got my new computer today!!! Decided to call her Lovelace 🙂
Contrary to all my feelings towards golf, I’ve been reading a lot of the articles about Annika Sörenstams historic participation on the PGA Tour. I hope she’ll do great, but just the fact that she’s playing is enough. It’s always interesting to see what kind of feelings that are brought to the surface when it comes to the issue of women competing with men on the same terms. Why are so many men afraid? I don’t understand it. If they are as superior as they think they are, then what could happen except that being proved?
Went to see The Matrix Reloaded yesterday! Was a bit afraid that I would be disappointed, but I really enjoyed it. I wanna be able to fight like Trinity…
